NewsJanuary 2011: As post-production to the long awaited Kung Fu action comedy short Crib of Death draws to an end, Alan's action choreography reel is now available to view online. It features scenes from Crib of Death showcasing the extensive styles of Alan's ability as a choreographer. The showreel can be viewed here. November 2010: Currently situated in Hong Kong, Alan had the opportunity to reunite with local film-making duo, Simon Yin and Derrick Fong (director and D.O.P. team of the up-coming thriller Supercapitialist) on a promo teaser shoot for an in-development feature film, Zomb'Asians. The Kung Fu horror comedy (which promises equal amounts of babes and gore) was written by Russell Wait, who also co-producing the feature with verteran of Hong Kong cinema and editor of Impact magazine, Mike Leeder. August 2010: After spending almost nine months living in Toronto, Canada, Alan returns to his homeland in Dublin having studies the art of Chinese Kung Fu intensively for six solid months. He had the honor and previledge to train under some of the most renowned and well respected instructors and teachers in Toronto, including Sifu Paul Chan (Choi Yei Fut and Do Pi style) and Sifu Chen Rong En (the only original descendant of the Shaolin Fut Gar Kung Fu style still actively teaching). October 2009: Filming of Tequila Mockingbird Productions Crib of Death finally wrapped on 4th October. The short kung fu comedy which had Alan wearing multiple hats on the production as the lead actor, fight choerographer, co-writer and co-producer was filmed over 9 days. Post-production is underway and a first cut of the film is due to be ready early in the new year. The Crib of Death teaser trailer can be viewed here. August 2009: Alan begins filming in the leading role of his own personal project with Tequila Mockingbird Productions, Crib of Death from 7th August. Crib of Death is a short kung fu comedy which pays homage to Bruce Lee and his movies, namely Game of Death, and various movies of its genre. Filming is to commence over 7 days schedule in the month of August, and is directed and produced by co-founders of Tequila Mockingbird Productions, Craig Woods and John Lawless respectively. Fellow member of TMP, Aoife Concannon serves as production designer. July 2009: Pre-production goes underway for Alan's latest project, Crib of Death. As well as playing the leading role in the kung fu action comedy short film which Alan co-wrote, he will also be serving as fight choerographer and co-producer for this first major production of new independent company, Tequila Mockingbird Productions. June 2009: The 2nd run of TEAM Educational Theatre Company's Jumping on My Shadow has come to an end on 4th June. Alan has enjoyed the experience working on tour with the new cast and the opportunity to relive the role of Josip once more. Alan landed a role in the RTE series The Clinic. The popular medical drama is in it's 7th series. Filming took place on 5th June, where Alan appears opposite leading man Dominic Mafham (Kingdom, The Bill) and guest star Alison Doody (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, A View To Kill) under the direction of Lisa Mulcahy. The series is due to air on RTE in September 2009. Alan is delighted to make an appearance in the feature film A Kiss For Jed Wood. The drama comedy is set in New York & Ireland, and stars Jayne Wisener (Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Boogey Man 3) and Mark O'Halloran (Adam & Paul) and is directed by Maurice Linnane (the man behind many U2 & The Cranberries' MV & documentaries). Alan filmed his part as 'Jimmy' in Sallynoggin, and had the pleasure to work opposite the lovely & talented Jayne Wisener. A Kiss For Jed Wood is set to be released in 2010. February 2009: Alan's 2nd spell with TEAM Educational Theatre Company's Jumping on My Shadow opens 11th February. The tour this year will take him all around Dublin, and counties including Clare, Monaghan, and Donegal. Alan had the opportunity and pleasure to take part in BBC Radio 4 Afternoon Play Avenues of Eternal Peace. The original piece is written by Lucy Caldwell and directed by Heather Larmour. Recording took place on 16th February in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It is due to air sometime in June 2009. January 2009: Rehearsals for Jumping on My Shadow began on 12st January. This is Alan's second time working with TEAM Educational Theatre Company, having been one of the original cast member of the same show last year. Alan will be working with an all new cast and stage manager under the direction of Sue Mythen (the movement director of 2008 tour of Jumping on My Shadow) with Education Director, Nora Stillman once again in charge of the facilitation workshop. November 2008: Due to popular demands TEAM Educational Theatre Company are bringing back Jumping on My Shadow touring next year from February to June 2009, and Alan has been approached to reprise his role as Josip in the production. Rehearsal will begin next year in January 2009. June 2oo8: After almost four and half months on tour, 68 performances, Jumping on My Shadow wraps on 6th June in Donegal. Alan has truly enjoyed such a fulfilling experience working with TEAM and his fellow cast members & crew. March 2008: Alan travels to Agor Drysau, Wales with TEAM's tour of Jumping on My Shadow. The show is part of the prestigious Opening Doors Festival, and is the only Irish theatre company to be invited & to perform as part of it's festival. February 2008: Jumping on My Shadow opens on 20th February. Over the course of the next four and half months, Alan will be traveling with TEAM to schools across Ireland, including Dublin, Dundalk, Monaghan, and Donegal, bringing the performance of Jumping on My Shadow and follow-up workshops to students from 5th & 6th classes. January 2008: Alan begins rehearsals on 21st January for TEAM Educational Theatre's latest production of the award winning play Jumping on My Shadow by Peter Rumney. This is Alan's first taste of T.I.E. (Theatre in Education) and he looks forward to enjoy & learn from the experience. |
